Best Songs Of 2013: 50 – 26

Best Songs 2013 50-26

Artwork by Becky Rother

After counting down the best albums of 2013 and looking at some that almost made the list, it’s time to reflect upon some of the standout songs of the past year. In a year where we listened to thousands of songs it was incredibly difficult to narrow it down to just 50, but these we think were the year’s best. Any track that was first heard between January 1st and December 31st of last year was eligible, regardless of whether it was officially released (i.e. instead of just streamed via Soundcloud) during that time or not, as we strongly believe that if it’s publicly (and legally) available it should count as being released within that time frame as well. The only limitation we placed on ourselves when shaping the list was to include only one song per artist.

Below you’ll find our picks for the first 25 songs in our countdown, presented in descending order. Check back on Monday January 6th for the rest of the list.
