Katy B Announces Second Album Entitled Little Red

Katy B

UK  singer Katy B has been approaching pop music with expertise as if she’s been in the game for a lifetime. Not only is she releasing carefully crafted dance hits left and right steadily since 2011,  but she’s also damn talented. Her first full-length On a Mission did exactly what it’s titular notion suggests. Katy was on a mission – to prove herself among all of the dance music out right now and her vocal prowess began to shine through immediately. Her voice would be delicate one second, and booming the next – at times tip toeing around the beat, or completely controlling it. Not to mention how effortlessly she’d jump between genres, making you unsure if you were listening to R&B, garage, house, or oldschool jungle.

Her aptly named follow up Little Red (she’s 5’3″ and has bright red hair) continues where On a Mission left off and is due out February 3 via Rinse/Columbia. She’s already proven herself, so now she’s letting us know that she’s here to stay. We’ve already seen three of the tracks: singles “Crying for No Reason” and “5AM” as well as Jessie Ware duet “Aaliyah” from her 2012 Danger EP – each better than the last. Assuming that she continues in her current direction this will definitely be an album to watch out for, and I don’t know about you but I’ll be counting down the days until February 3.
