Listen to The Temper Trap‘s newest single “Need Your Love” below, from their upcoming self-titled album.
The Temper Trap returns with “Need Your Love”, their first single since they released their debut album, 2009′s “Conditions”, which will be on their second-full length, “The Temper Trap”, due for release on June 5th via Glassnote Records. The release of their self-titled album leads up to an 11-date tour across America, including a recently added second appearance at the renowned Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
The Australian band is most famous for their song “Sweet Disposition”, which made an appearance both in the film 500 Days Of Summer and on an episode of the hit TV series, Greek. “Sweet Disposition” skyrocketed up the Billboard charts due to lead singer Dougy Mandagi’s unique falsetto as well as the song’s catchy guitar riff and chorus.
For the first single off of their new album, Mandagi maintains his distinct falsetto (thankfully – it what makes these guys ever distinguishable), but employs the grandiose drums from “Drum Song”, the instrumental track on “Conditions”, making the song evermore epic and evermore rememberable, as opposed to the majority of the guitar-based songs off their debut.
The Temper Trap put on incredible live shows (I managed to catch them twice touring behind “Conditions” back in 2010), so I would suggest checking them out on their upcoming tour behind their new self-titled album.
