“I’m smart and I’ve been told I have a more than average penis size.” So says T.J. Masters on Conveyor‘s latest song, “Pushups”. For a band that just last year was talking about hair length, this seems to be quite a step forward in subject matter. Of course, it could be all the pushups he’s been doing, something he’s keen on us knowing, albeit in the roundabout why of asking about it.
For a song that seems so lyrically self-conscious, it’s probably fitting that Masters’ vocals is so shrouded by fuzz and noise that it’s incredibly difficult to actually make out what he’s saying. Still, what it does make more than obvious is that the Brooklyn-based four-piece have grown immensely since the release of their very solid eponymous debut, and are making an extra effort to go a step beyond their comfort zone.
“Pushups” will be released alongside “Mammal Food” on gold vinyl via Gold Robot Records on December 10th. Pre-orders are now available. The band are currently working on their second album, which should see the light of day next year, but they’re taking some time off to tour. Check out the dates below.
