Video: Haim – Strong Enough (Sheryl Crow Cover)

Australia’s popular Triple J radio program Like A Version was in for more of a treat than anyone realized when they put HAIM on the air. The obviously L.A.-based girl rock trio spends the first part of the session goofing around, announcing that they’ll be playing a Sheryl Crow song, and dealing with the inevitable giggles and “Soak Up The Sun” references that follow.

Before finally buckling down to play their chosen cover, “Strong Enough”, guitarist Danielle remarks that she “heard the song on the radio a couple weeks ago and forgot how good it was.” The sisters (with exception of non-relative drummer Dash Hutton) proceed to play a cover that makes the song current – still a little throwback vibe, with the wash of ’80s synth and the usual Fleetwood Mac-like arrangement – but, all in all, miles ahead of the original.

We’re just about wetting our pants with excitement for the arrival of September 30th – the day HAIM’s debut Days Are Gone sees the light of day via Columbia Records.
